We are excited to announce the commitment of Derek Prior, joining the program in Fall 2026! A proven scorer with a relentless competitive edge, Derek brings a passion for filling up the net — and a serious love for the Buffalo Bills.
An attack/middie out of Oakmont High, Derek has been a dominant offensive force, posting 40+ goals in each of the past two seasons and averaging over a hat trick per game across 14 contests last year. His ability to create offense, finish under pressure, and bring energy every shift makes him a dangerous threat wherever he lines up.
With his scoring touch, edge, and personality, Derek is ready to make an impact immediately.

Why did you choose Humboldt?
I chose Humboldt because it offers an awesome fire science program and I can play lacrosse at the same time
What is your main motivation for playing lacrosse?
I love the competitiveness and putting goals on the other teams heads
What would a successful season of lacrosse be for you?
Playing every second of the games with everything I’ve got and putting points up with my guys
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to hang out with my friends, family, and being in the gym
If you could have lunch with any person, who would it be and why?
Josh Allen because he’s one of the best if not the best quarterback to ever live and he’s super funny
What do you enjoy most about lacrosse?
I love the bonding that the team builds and the life long brotherhood it holds
