Justin Juarez receives Outstanding Student Award in Club Sports

Besides being named to the all-conference team and hopefully getting some all-American recognition, our awesome goalie Justin Juarez recently received an Outstanding Student Award from Cal Poly Humboldt for his work with club sports.

A transfer from Santa Barbara City College last season, Justin stepped into a leadership role with Humboldt Lacrosse from Day One, recruiting students in the dining hall before he had even practiced with the club. Since that first workout, Justin has helped lead the team’s recruiting and outreach programs and is always the first to act as an ambassador at public events or meet prospects when they visit campus.

In his second year with the team, he was elected club president and named a team captain by the coaches. By season’s end, Justin led all WCLL D2 goalies with a 67% save percentage and booked over 150 saves. Among MCLA goalies who played six or more games, Justin is ranked No. 2 nationally in saves per game.

Additionally, he has served as a Public Safety Ambassador with the University Police Department since 2022. In 2023, he worked for Cal Poly Humboldt as a Resident Advisor, supervising an on-campus residence building of 50 students.

Thank you, Justin, for being such a great leader with the club on and off the field, and we look forward to enjoying your company on the Alumni sidelines for many years to come!
