Top 10 Instagram posts of 2024

It’s that time of year again when we break down the top 10 posts from Instagram from 2024. Overall, it was a great year for social media metrics. Our reach was up 40 percent to nearly 16,000, and our content interactions were up 100 percent from last year. We posted more than 125 times — an increase of more than 4 percent — and while we had fewer stories this year, the median story interaction was up 25 percent.

Traffic was the heaviest during the fall, with most of the high-traffic posts beginning in October thanks to being boosted by other accounts, including Varsity Club Lacrosse.

No. 10: Media Day Photo Session

Thanks to Elliott Portillo, we had some great player portraits to use throughout the year. Ironically, the photos in this post are more behind-the-scenes moments captured by our former goalie Justin Juarez and not the actual shots, but people love a preview!

No. 09: Our Time is ‘Meow’

We love our players, and we love our player spotlights, but we may have to start doing some player’s pet spotlights after seeing the traffic on our National Cat Day post. Shout out to JJ and Alec for sharing their feline friends with us — you guys are some cool cats!

No. 08: Hogs Win 2024 Season Opener

Everyone likes a winner, and this post is no exception. Besides having the most likes of any post in 2024, our home win against Santa Cruz also had the most interactions. And we’re looking forward to liking a lot of posts next year!

No. 07: Alumni Game Appreciation Post

We love our alumni and appreciate the time they spend sharing their love of Humboldt Lacrosse and tradition with the team. Thanks to all the old Hogs who turned up this November, and we can’t wait to see you again in 2025!

No. 06: 2025 Schedule Release

The Hogs are on the road a lot in 2025 — which is nothing new for a Humboldt Lacrosse team — but we got a head start this year thanks to all the traffic this post got 😄

No. 05: Alec Vargas Spotlight

Our most shared post of the year, it’s been a pleasure watching Alec don the green and gold these past two seasons. An All-WCLL face-off specialist, Coach Gus has nothing but good things to say about Alec, and we can’t wait to see what the Corona product has in store for us next season.

No. 04: Humboldt Roster Graphic

When in doubt — tag high school lacrosse programs!

No. 03: Carson DeGarmo Spotlight

Carson came to us from Napa, and we can’t wait to see him on the field in 2025. He capped off our fall ball spotlights with a bang, hitting over 100 likes and being a top post in shares, reach and impressions.

No. 02: Hog Fog

One of our favorite shots of the year, we knew instantly it would resonate with our followers — and clearly, we were right.

No. 01: Drip Drop

With the highest reach and the largest number of impressions, this post had it in the bag. Thanks to Adrenaline Lacrosse for the sick gear, and thanks to all our friends, family, and followers for a great 2024!
